Andrew has practiced as a Criminal Lawyer in Western Australia and Victoria. He is a passionate defence lawyer who uses his advocacy skills and vast knowledge of the law to achieve the best results for his clients.
Andrew has assisted individual and corporate clients through various tribunal and criminal proceedings; having appeared in the Magistrate, District, County and Supreme Courts. He has a proven record preparing and advocating in jury trials, contested bail applications, contested hearings, summary and indictable pleas.
Andrew’s current practice has a heavy criminal law focus, specialising in assaults, property offences, sexual offences, and dishonesty offences.
Fiona Hugo is a Partner at Tehan Legal. She has appeared as counsel in numerous Magistrates Court and District Court trials, from minor traffic matters to serious violence and sexual offence matters. Fiona is also an experienced appeal lawyer, having instructed interstate silks and also appeared as counsel in the Supreme Court of Appeal. She is an experienced and tenacious criminal law advocate.
Clients find Fiona caring, diligent and fastidious when approaching their legal matters. Her legal research and case law knowledge are second to none. She helps clients understand the complexities of the legal system and always fights hard for them in court.
Fiona was ranked in Doyle’s Guide West Australian Criminal Law Rising Star Rankings in 2022. She credits her client focussed and pragmatic approach to her time working in the regions, specifically, South Hedland, Carnarvon, Karratha and Geraldton. In her spare time Fiona sings in a barbershop quartet.
Lucy Clark is an Associate at Tehan Legal. Prior to joining Tehan Legal, Lucy was a Senior Federal Prosecutor at the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions (CDPP).
At the CDPP, Lucy worked predominantly on large scale drug importation prosecutions and regularly appeared as counsel in every tier of the Western Australian courts on federal and state crime matters. Lucy now uses the skills she gained as a prosecutor to represent people charged with serious criminal offences.
Lucy holds the role of Convenor for the Piddington Society Bali Conference, an organisation that promotes access to justice. In her spare time, Lucy plays AFLW for the Cottesloe Roosters Football Club.
Rhys Mola is an Associate at Tehan Legal. Prior to joining Tehan Legal, Rhys was a Senior Federal Prosecutor at the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions (CDPP).
At the CDPP, Rhys appeared as counsel across every tier of Western Australia’s courts and specialised in multiple crime types including organised crime and national security, serious financial and corporate crime and human exploitation and border protection.
Rhys now leverages his experience to provide advice and representation to clients charged with serious criminal offences. Rhys appears as counsel in bail applications, summary hearings, jury trials and sentencing hearings in Perth and regional areas (including the Pilbara, Kimberley and Goldfields).
Rhys is an effective communicator and prides himself on maintaining productive working relationships with his clients and peers to ensure matters are resolved effectively and efficiently.
Rhys also has experience managing complex criminal investigations. Rhys has been a long-standing volunteer for the West Australian Football Commission and was made a life member of the Metro North Regional Development Council in 2023.
Hugh has recently completed his Bachelor of Laws and has joined Tehan Legal as a Legal Graduate.
Hugh has a range of experience clerking at criminal defence firms, where he has experienced a wide breadth of cases and undertaken extensive legal research.
Evelyn Owen is a Paralegal at Tehan Legal.
Evelyn is completing her Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Criminology.
Evelyn is an active participant in law mooting competitions, providing her a wide range of skills that she implements in her role at Tehan Legal.
Molly is a Paralegal at Tehan Legal. She is currently in her final year at the University of Western Australia completing her Juris Doctor.
Molly has a degree in Bachelor of Science majoring in Psychology and Humanities in Health from the University of Western Australia. Molly has a keen interest in criminal law and advocating for individuals.
Sonya is our Office Manager, with over 30 years of industry experience. Sonya joined the Tehan Legal Team in 2024 and has become a central part of the firms’ operations.
Sonya manages the intake of all new client matters and overseas the daily operations, including the management of all staffs’ calendars. Sonya possesses excellent organizational skills and handles all administrative tasks with efficiency.
