Whilst undertaking his law degree in Victoria Andrew worked at the North Melbourne Community Legal Centre assisting some of the most disadvantaged members of society on a wide range of legal matters.
Upon obtaining his Bachelor of Laws with 1st class honours, and admission into practice, Andrew travelled from his hometown of Melbourne to work for the Aboriginal Legal Service of Western Australia (ALSWA) as a solicitor advocate in the Criminal Law Unit. Whilst working at the ALSWA he traversed WA working in remote communities and appeared in the Childrens Court, Magistrates Court, District Court and Supreme Court jurisdictions.
After nearly 4 years with the ALSWA he returned to Melbourne where he worked for Tony Hargreaves and Partners. During this time, he gained invaluable experience working on large scale white collar fraud cases, homicide cases, and general litigation for individual and corporate clients.
He was lured back to Perth when he accepted the role of managing lawyer of Slater and Gordon’s WA Criminal Law division, and then in 2018 he founded Tehan Legal.
As the founder and principal lawyer at Tehan Legal, Andrew appears primarily as a criminal law jury trial advocate, and manages his team to work collaboratively on all criminal law, traffic law, restraining order, and regulatory law matters.
